The Circus

Today we went to the circus with some friends. Porter is the perfect age for this. He was dancing with the music (which was way too loud), he ate enough popcorn for five people! (I'm pretty sure I did too though!) I think his favorite part was the lions. Maybe I say that because it was MY favorite part. Seriously amazing. These huge tigers just listening to this scrawny little guy with a whip! (sad that I didn't get a picture of it) It kind of bugged having Claire there...I say that because she was stuck to me in the Bjorn making me sweat...not that she was bad. I think that we all had lots of fun, I know I did. We were looking forward to this for so long, that it's sad it's over. I'm sure that won't stop Porter asking me about it tomorrow morning though!

Weekend Fun

Friday night was so much fun. I left Porter and Mark and went up to Mark's Families cabin with all of the girls in my ward and spent the night. It was fun (eventhough I had Claire). We pretty much just ate and talked, but it's always fun to be with girls! I stole this picture from a friends blog (I hope you don't mind Collette). I brought my camera, but of course forgot to bring it on the little hike to "the point."

While I was gone, Mark had Porter and they had fun! They ate dinner at McDonalds (I know, really healthy!), went to the park and then came home and set up a tent in the backyard. Mark said Porter was in heaven. He eventually brought him back inside at 10:30 pm to sleep! Porter was just too excited to sleep. Fun father/son night!!!

Curious George

Today Curious George was at Barnes and Noble. Porter was so excited, until we got there! I had to make him go up and take a picture with George. He still had fun listening to story time and seeing his neighborhood buddies.
You can tell he wasn't totally big on the whole standing with George for a picture thing...(from left to right) Dylan, Jonah, James and Porter...

Children's Museum

Today another outting...the Children's Museum at the gateway. I absolutely love this place, and as you can see, so does Porter. We spend hours there, and he gets his energy out and I just get to watch! It's great. Today we even went to one of the little classes that they put on. Since it's at the gateway, I even get to get a little shopping in! :) We both win!!

Hogle Zoo

So since we stayed inside ALL day yesterday...literally! I decided to take Porter somewhere fun like the ZOO! He could go every single day if I was up to it. He loves animals and acting like them. He even roars at you if you get mad at him. We had the zoo to ourselves, practically, because all the kids are at school. And now the best time of day...NAP TIME!!!

utah state fair

ferris wheel
Claire was soooo good the whole night!
A fast race car! Porter loves cars.
Grandma and Grandpa Maughan in line for the ferris wheel.

The biggest rabbit I've ever seen!
Porter rode the fun slide four times. He couldn't get enough!

Tonight was so much fun. We met Mark's parents at the Utah state fair. Porter was seriously in Heaven!! We rode the Ferris Wheel twice, rode the choo choo train, saw all the animals, went through the fun house and down a huge slide on a sack! And of course what else do you do at a fair, but eat! Not very good food, but you have to try everything, right?! Pizza, cotton candy, funnel cakes, hot dogs, cinnamon rolls...it makes me sick just thinking about it! Claire just sat in the stroller the whole time, except for the two times I stopped to feed her...she was really, really good. I bet Porter will be talking about this for the rest of his life!

my little chunk!

So I took Claire to the Dr.'s on Tuesday and suprise suprise she's on the same road as Porter was. 14.4 lbs!!! (at two months mind you!) I asked what percentile that was, and the nurse was like "oh that's off the charts!" Poor Claire! she is 25 inches long and that's the 95th percentile! So at least she's not 14 pounds and in the 10th percentile in height! Then we'd be REALLY scared. I want to get my milk tested...I'm sure that it's more cream than nutrients! She is still the cutest little thing though...just love her! Her toothless smile can brighten any day.

Here Goes...

Well we've decided to start a blog, not only because eveyone and their dog does it, but because Liz really wants me to! :) Hope you all enjoy it.
