Kangaroo Zoo and a birthday party...

On Saturday Porter invited 11 little friends to join him at the Kangaroo Zoo...and it was so much fun. The kids faces were red and their tummies were full, what more could a mom ask for?

Porter going down the little kiddie slide
Collette and Zeke
Climbing up for the big slide
That was so much fun!
Claire didn't really like the slides, but her parents did so she had no choice!

Head first...
Kimberly and Porter
Claire loved to watch all the kids
Singing happy birthday
This is what the scene looks like when a three year old opens presents...they all thought that the gift was theirs!! It was pretty cute.

And of course this is the reward for such a fun time!

Happy Happy Birthday Porter Dear...

My first child turns three today!! Happy birthday Porter! It seems like yesterday...so cliche but so true. We have been blessed to have him in our lives. He brings so much joy and energy.

He has given up the binky! (three at a time!) to the garbage man, transitioned into a big boy bed, and has mastered the toilet!! We can no longer call him a baby, which was probably long over due anyhow! He is smart, way smarter than I was at three years old! :) (huh mom?)

As his birthday has approached I'll say to him "Porter, please stop growing up...will you be two forever?" He'll sweetly say "but mommy I can't, my birthday at the Kangaroo Zoo, I'll be three, and then four and then five!" It brings tears to my eyes. I love him the most, and hope he always knows that!!

Porter was born at 11:56 a.m. after only four hours! (I can say "only" because I had an epidural!) He weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 20 inches long. This is him two days old and still in the hospital.

Porter turns ONE! He loved that cow cake...

The day Porter turned TWO, He got this bike from Grandma Diane and we're still trying to teach him how to pedal...someday!

Chuck E Cheese party, which he still remembers! He loved it.

Porter today and THREE years old!

We love you Scooter!!!

Laughing Claire...

Yesterday we went to Claire's nine month appointment. Porter loves to watch Claire get checked (instead of him) and often says "it's okay Claire, he's nice!" (exactly what I would tell him when we'd go for him...

Anyway I know everyone wants to know her stats so...
-21.6 pounds = 90%
-30 inches = OFF THE CHARTS! (after measuring her, the nurse always turns to me and says is your husband really tall?) not really!

I've added a cute video of Claire...she was in such a good mood this morning, and I just love to hear her laugh

Poopy bag

Here we go...I decided today was the day for no more diapers. Porter and I went to the store a couple of days ago and bought some treats (candy, his favorite chips, and small toys) for his potty training bag, which he calls his "poopy bag." Before he would even finish going potty he would look up at me with a big smile and say "I get a treat," or "I get another toy!" I swear he would stop his pee, just so that he could go again a couple of minutes later! But that's okay because he was a little champ today. In the morning I had to help him and I kept reminding him to not go in his bed or on the floor, etc., but by the end of the day he would say "mommy I have to go potty!" And then I'd follow him to the bathroom and he'd say "no mommy I can do it all by myself, can you please leave?" So grown up...
I'm not kidding when I say he was on the toilet probably 200 times today. He loved his "poopy bag." Sometimes he'd say he had to go, get on and then look up at me and say "oh, maybe not." It was pretty cute.

This is the way he looked all day! Cutest bum ever. Sounds gross, but it actually worked. I hope tomorrow is another good day of toilets!!

This is how I found Claire sleeping for her nap today, so uncomfortable, but so cute! I had to add it.
