Talking to Jesus

So Porter learned in nursery that if you're mean or someone is mean to you, you need to talk to Jesus. Daily Mark and I are reminded that we need to "talk to Jesus, because he doesn't like when you're mean!" It's quite cute, but getting a little old!

Happy 60th...

Birthday to my mom! What an awesome weekend we had. My dad surprised my mom for her 60th birthday and flew me and Jill into Orange County (by far the best of all the surprises! ha), where we drove up to LA and surprised my mom in the line to the Jay Leno show. I wish I had her initial reaction on camera, but you'll just have to trust me that she was very surprised! That night we went to a restaurant called Ketchup. Then Saturday we woke up and surprised my mom with a morning at the spa. It was relaxing and much needed. We shopped for a while until it was time to get ready for another fun restaurant, The Geisha House. Then we headed over to the theater for Wicked. We had awesome seats, and the play was even better the second time around! Thank you dad for the "all inclusive" trip! Me and my surprised mom!
At the Grove doing what we do best as sisters...SHOP!

Terry Bradshaw and Colbie Calliet were the guests of the show.

In front of yummy Ketchup! Well it wasn't the best food, but it was a fun experience.

I spared you the before pictures at Burke Williams, but as you can tell, we were pretty happy afterward!
Our hotel was BEAUTIFUL, and it was right across the street from Santa Monica Pier. (Nice work dad!)
Wicked was amazing.
My favorite cupcakes!
I want a red velvet right now!!!

Jill, Elizabeth, Me, Heather and Jennifer
We managed to hit up four different Pinkberry's in three days! My dad was the biggest fan of these, and of course, we were all happy he was.
I love you mom! Happy, Happy Birthday. (Let's not wait another 60 years to do this again!)

P.S. Thanks to all of our husbands who watched the kiddos while we played!

Finally...

We got to put on our suites and play outside, in the water and sandbox! I've been itching for this day for the last two months, and it's finally here. YEAH!!!

Happy Fifth...

ANNIVERSARY MARK! How is it that four years of high school seem like it's NEVER going to end, and college? I'd never graduate, but marriage seems to fly by. Probably because they've been the best five years of my life. Five years isn't that long, but in picture years it's an eternity...These pictures make us think we've been married fifty years! (No digital camera).

Five Fun memories of the last five years

1) Becoming parents. Porter Duff and Claire Diane two of the best things that have happened in the last five years.

2) Living in Chicago when we were first married. Mark worked and I stayed home in a studio apartment, with NO car, NO TV, and NO phone. So funny to think about now.

3) Going to Portugal last year to visit Mark's mission. I was seven months pregnant and not very mobile, so maybe we'll have to go back when I'm not in that condition! :)

4) Moving into our first house. We were truly on our own, no one to call if something broke, we were in charge of getting it fixed!

5) Hana Hawaii! (three times in the first three years of marriage) Truly Heaven on Earth!

A few pounds and a few kids later and I love Mark more than ever!

Rain, Rain...

GO AWAY!!! Please let the sun SHINE TODAY!

How opposite are my last two posts! I don't mind a rainy day every once in a while, but when it falls right behind the LONGEST winter, it kind of gets to me!!! Obviously it didn't bother Porter. He was all about getting his snow suit on to play in the puddles...and although I didn't like the rain, I love to watch him having fun.

BLOGOSPHERE

So, as Mark would say nothing new on the "blogosphere!" But don't think I haven't been taking pictures, just no big events...except that the other day we had a beautiful day, (rare around here), so Mark and Porter pulled out their lawn mowers to cut the grass, Claire got to be in her pack 'n' play and then it was baths and off to bed. Pretty much the same routine every night. I'm so lucky!

Porter mowing the lawn with daddy!
I LOVE this picture of her.
This is the way Claire bathes. (and if you're wondering, she got her body from her daddy! haha) She takes the washcloths from me and sticks them right in her mouth, and watch out if I dare try to take them away! (sad that she blends right into the white tub! Hopefully soon we'll be out at the pool.) Porter sleeps so soundly. I was in there taking pictures of him, and he didn't even flintch.
Claire, on the other hand, wakes up to EVERYTHING. She must've heard me come in and popped her little head up (I couldn't really see, so it's a miracle she's even in the frame!)

P.S. Happy 10 months Claire!
