Poopy bag

Here we go...I decided today was the day for no more diapers. Porter and I went to the store a couple of days ago and bought some treats (candy, his favorite chips, and small toys) for his potty training bag, which he calls his "poopy bag." Before he would even finish going potty he would look up at me with a big smile and say "I get a treat," or "I get another toy!" I swear he would stop his pee, just so that he could go again a couple of minutes later! But that's okay because he was a little champ today. In the morning I had to help him and I kept reminding him to not go in his bed or on the floor, etc., but by the end of the day he would say "mommy I have to go potty!" And then I'd follow him to the bathroom and he'd say "no mommy I can do it all by myself, can you please leave?" So grown up...
I'm not kidding when I say he was on the toilet probably 200 times today. He loved his "poopy bag." Sometimes he'd say he had to go, get on and then look up at me and say "oh, maybe not." It was pretty cute.

This is the way he looked all day! Cutest bum ever. Sounds gross, but it actually worked. I hope tomorrow is another good day of toilets!!

This is how I found Claire sleeping for her nap today, so uncomfortable, but so cute! I had to add it.

how cute!! That will be awesome if Porter is potty trained! To only have on kid in diapers, that would be the best thing in the world, I can only imagine! I need to get me one of those poopy bags when I start with Grace and Olivia! Loveyou!!!

Ugh, I don't look forward to potty training. But I love your idea of a "poopy bag"... that is great! I'll have to remember that in about 2 years...

ugh...potty training. Love the picture of Claire in her bed sleeping. Steve took pictures of Camryn asleep the other day and I love it. She gets in weird positions too!

He was really naked all day!? You're braver than me. I'm still a big fan of the extra padded undies, which, BTW, are sold at ShopKo--it took me forever to find them.

Way to go Porter! I am counting down the day for when I can start potty training Ella. I HATE changing diapers. It's like the worst part of being a mom! Especially when you have a daughter who likes to reach down there to see what's going on when I'm in the middle of changing the nasty thing.

I'm sooooooooooo proud of you, Porter!! And I'm proud of your Mommy too........for being so clever and thinking of the "poopy bag" idea! I can just see and hear the little bugger running back and forth to the potty to try and get some more treats! Heck, it's what I'd be doing too!!!! How wonderful it will be to not have P in diapers! Sounds like he's being very cooperative! Yeah, it's working!! Love you!! x0x0x0x0x0

Yay for Porter! Sounds like a fun day for you, Meghan. ;) I think my sister potty trained one of her kids that way and it worked great for her too. I am not looking forward to potty training because I am assuming for the worst (you know, lots of messes in places you don't want them!) Good idea about the bag of treats.

Wow. I wish I could have thought of a poopie bag before I potty trained my girls. Alexis was a nightmare.
